De Veerstraat

(Ferry Street)

The "Veerstraat" has remained the best-kept 'street' of Maassluis. It originally housed the berth for the ferries that used to travel to and from the Westland.

Nearly every premises here is a monument. Many of the houses still boast their original, magnificent facades.

De Monsterse Sluis (the Monster Sluice) and the stairs form a beautiful barrier, while the other end of the "street" harmoniously passes into the Markt (Marketplace), Noordvliet (North Brook) and Goudsteen (Gold Stone).
