Marnixkade

(Marnix Quay)

This IJssel-stone corner-premises dates from 1630 and bears great significance for the Great Church, which is situated at the back of this building.

The inscription above the door bears reference to the fact that this property was restored in 1944, after the bombing of 1943.

The Marnix Quay is named after Marnix of Saint Aldegonde, who defended the entrenchment against the Spanish during the Eighty-Year War.
